Colouring Competition!

The children of Drogheda were extremely busy for the past two weeks as they competed in the Drogheda United colouring competition. It turned out to be a very tough competition with several fantastic entries. In total 10 schools in the town took part in the competition. Prizes were awarded to the best entry in each school and then an overall winner was chosen.

On Monday CPO Nikki Carpenter was accompanied by Drogheda United players Ronan Mc Enteggart and Paul Mondondo as they visited the schools to announce the prize winners. The children were extremely excited to meet the players as well as discovering if their picture was the winning entry.

The overall winner of the competition was 8 year old Soga Agunloye from St. Patrick’s N.S. Soga was presented with his prize in front of his entire school at their Golden Awards ceremony. Pupils of St. Patrick’s then got the opportunity to have a questions and answers with the Drogheda United players. The players encouraged the students to exercise and eat healthy.

The competition entries are on display in the club house in Hunky Dory’s Park for all to see. Well done to everyone who took part and a very big thank you to the participating schools.
