Drogheda United manager Pete Mahon has further strengthened his squad today with 12 members of last season’s squad re-signing for 2017.

Goalkeeper Stephen McGuinness, who made countless crucial saves across the season, will be joined by last year’s defence with Colm Deasy, Lloyd Buckley, Kevin Farragher, Luke Gallagher and Stephen Dunne all committing their futures to the Drogs.

Local lads Sean Thornton and Sean Brennan, who will be playing alongside his brother Gavin, have signed new deals as have Jake Hyland and Adam Wixted.

Promising youngsters Mark Doyle and Eoghan Dempsey will also complement the squad with news of more signings expected shortly.
