Drogheda United are delighted to announce an official partnership with the Drogheda Children’s Soccer League (DCSL) as part of the club’s commitment to youth development.
It is a key aspiration of Drogheda United to make its youth programme a centre of excellence at under-age level and to help produce the future generation of senior soccer players who will play at the highest level.
The DCSL provides a structured soccer league for approximately 20 clubs in Drogheda and the surrounding areas along with the provision of coaching and games for children between the ages of 7-15 in a healthy team environment.
The agreement between the parties has been reached through the hard work of Derek Boyle (Drogheda United Head of Youth Development) and Neil O’Brien (Chairman of the DCSL) and we believe that the existing DCSL Emerging Talent Programme will be the pathway for elite young players to gain access to senior soccer.
Drogheda United are proud to be affiliated with the DCSL and we are looking forward to developing and maintaining links between the two bodies in order to provide a smooth transition from schoolboy to senior soccer for talented young players.
