Drogheda United manager Tim Clancy has put the finishing touches to his squad ahead of Friday’s big kick-off with the news that Lloyd Buckley has agreed a new deal.
An underage Ireland international, Lloyd represented Drogheda Under 19’s in the 2014/15 campaign before being called up as part of the senior side under Johnny McDonnell.
He featured heavily in the 2015 pre-season lining out at both centre-back and right-back as he added to his growing reputation and would score two goals in a disappointing campaign for the Drogs as they were relegated to the First Division.
Lloyd remained with Drogheda and he would go on to make 16 appearances that season as United returned to the Premier Division at the first time of asking.
He re-signed for the club in December 2016 where he would make 14 appearances.
