The game started briskly a lively pitch at Blanch IT and it quickly developed into a good tough and physical game with Bohs having plenty of possession and meeting a Drogs defence and midfield who were up for the challenge and posed a real threat to the Bohs defence on the breakaway with striker Jordan Adeyamo holding the ball up well . On 15 minutes Leo Tang delivered a curling cross from the left into the box and the ever-alert Adeyamo nipped in between the defender and keeper to head the ball into an unguarded net for the lead goal.
Bohs started to press the Drogs defence and Daniel Grace made a good save on 37 minutes to preserve the Drogs lead, but the home side got on level terms a minute later with a well struck shot from outside the box which fizzed into the corner of the net. From there until the half time whistle, the Drogs defence held well and the teams went in 1-1 at half time.
The Drogs came out brighter in the second half and took the lead on the hour through a brilliant Eoin Broughan shot .They had a goal ruled out for offside with 15 minutes to go and it looked like they would hold on for the three points when a keeper Grace was fouled going for a cross and the ball was tapped into the empty net – a rather fortuitous goal. But this should not take from a great Drogs performance, strong and decisive at the back and seven injuries in the squad – Eoin McPhilips played the last 30 minutes for the First Team in Cobh on Saturday Night..
