There's not much to be said about this except that it was another Drogs collapse and a section of visting fans to the Showgrounds made the views known to our players. A succession of inept displays like this says that the team either are not good enough or are not trying and unfortunately, the latter seems to be the case.

The Drogs faced into a strong breeze and looked like they were able to soak up the pressure from the home side until Brian King got a straight red just on the stroke of half-time for a last-man tackle. From the resultant free-kick, Rovers struck a screamer into the net for the lead goal and Drogs fans were much aggrieved when a Joe Ndo shot which went wide was given as a corner from which Sligo scored.

After that, a Drogs collapse left many visiting supporters with a bitter taste and our ponderous defence and flimsy midfield (with a few notable exceptions) was exposed at will by the home side.
