Stephen made his competitive debut for Bray Wanderers in 2013 in a 4-1 Leinster Senior Cup victory over Tolka Rovers but it was the following season where he enjoyed a breakthrough campaign as he made 27 appearances as well as winning the club’s Player of the Year award.
He was again first choice in 2015 but injury in July curtailed his season and following his departure from the club, he joined Drogheda United in February 2016.
Injury prevented Stephen from starting the season between the sticks for the Boynesiders but he made his first league start in a 4-0 victory over Cabinteely. He would prove to be an ever-present for Pete Mahon’s side for the remainder of the season as he made 31 appearances and produced countless stunning saves as the Drogs earned promotion back to the Premier Division in November.
He re-signed for Drogheda in December 2016.
